Fillers
Dermal fillers are the most modern, fast, safe and minimally invasive non-surgical methods to rejuvenate the face. Over the last few years hyaluronic acid has found wide application in esthetic Dermatology. It has been added to the list of so-called temporary dermal implants. The use of permanent and semi-permanent dermal fillers is strictly limited due to the very serious side effects.
Hyaluronic acid is a basic component of the skin, which assists in its hydration. With increased age the quantity of hyaluronic acid decreases, due to the effects of sunlight, natural aging processes and other factors. This leads to a visible thinning of the skin, dehydration, changes in the contours of the face, decrease in the volume and deformation of the lips and the appearance of the first wrinkles. With the help of hyaluronic fillers, the hyaluronic acid lost from the skin is temporarily restored. They are injected directly into the derma, exactly where they are needed. The areas most often treated are:
- From the hairline to the corners of the mouth (nasolabial folds);
- Lips (formation of contours and/or increase in volume);
- Between the eyebrows (glabellar wrinkles);
- Cheekbones and chins:
Dermal fillers restore lost volume, soften the lines of the face and erase surface and deep wrinkles. The result is visible immediately after the procedure, but the full effect will unfold over a period of 1-2 weeks.
The length of the effect is from 6-12 months. This depends on the patient’s age, skin type, way of life (whether he/she smokes, how much time spent in the sun or at the solarium), type of filler and location of the application. The procedure is fast and has no side effects. After the injection the patient may experience a slight swelling or reddening, which will quickly go away and does not interfere with the daily activities of the patient.
